Spoonbill at Mt Annan

After a nice lunch at Melaleuca House in the Australian Botanic Garden, Mt Annan, I saw my first spoonbill.

It wasn’t long before we got too close for this spoonbill’s liking and it took off, flying low across the lake, heading for the far end.

Meanwhile, the kangaroos were keeping a wary eye on this photographer. Whilst this is a public botanic garden, the ‘roos are in the wild and are definitely not tame. They like to keep their distance.
